...and especially concerning issues where I appear so over extended periods of time.

I am not always largely logical, nor am I always patiently persistent ...

I try not to be the calm before the storm either ...and, I do attempt to weather the circumstances that appear to forecast less than a sunny day.  Yet, whether I look at you, or look at myself ...I may only see what the clouds permit me to see.  Those around me may help create the fog ...and I may have difficulty even finding the reflecting pool.

Spending more time at the pool, may not just help me see myself ...it can help me to understand some of you better too. So, let's start out at the shallow end ...and wade out a bit.

Where do you find your strongest convictions??

Do you believe every bit of science is true??

I don't believe every bit of religious text is true.

For over a decade now, what is the biggest thing science has been focusing on??   Well, I went to Google ...and found the top ten greatest scientific feats of the past decade.  Here is what I found: (to make it a bit briefer, I am only going to list five of the ten)
  • Stem cell research ...they now say they can get a stem cell without using a human embryo, but will they?? Reading further into the article, they say the iPS cells are not the same as the hES cells ...and they will still find the need for embryonic cells.  Morality and politics fight once again.
  • Step closer to robot domination ...moving from abomination, to domination.  Maybe the robots can colonize Mars.  And then all those who wish to be dominated by robots can move to Mars.  In a different sort of way, it could be slavery for the privileged ...or would it be the privileged who are the slaves??
  • Liquid water exists on Mars ...well, imagine that!!  No, I didn't want to imagine it ...but, I wanted to make sure I remembered it properly. Perhaps a rare occurrence (me remembering), but here it is:  "As a comet approaches the Sun, it starts to heat up. The ice transforms directly from a solid to a vapor, releasing the dust particles embedded inside. Sunlight and the stream of charged particles flowing from the Sun – the solar wind – sweeps the evaporated material and dust back in a long tail."  Water ...ice ...the same substance, just another form.  Why is it so surprising to find it on Mars??
  • Computer chip mimics human brain ...yet, whose brain would that be??  Stephen Hawking is relatively smart ...so, they could use his brain as a model.  But, the brain also is a center of emotions ...and I read he is afraid of aliens, so he would bring fear to settling on a near planet. Those robot martian aliens may be too much for anyone.
  • Memory manipulation ...perhaps would be useful in not being afraid of robot martian aliens.  The article said their studies and experimentation with mice showed much success.  The negative memory of mice was viewed by the mice as positive, and visa versa.  The mice also viewed positive events as awful experiences.  Maybe with this, they'd stop mating ...and they could colonize Mars, and not overrun the place with their normally prolific reproduction.  But, it would also be too easy for terrorists to infiltrate.  Russian mice could transport a shipment of mouse traps ...and the martian mice would look at it as a positive experience, and all become exterminated. (Actually, this mind & memory manipulation is nothing new. You may think I'm going to mention politics here, but what is a more realistic concern is what is mentioned in the Bible, as Isaiah 5:20, states, "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil ..."  And Romans 1:28, states, "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient ...")

Speaking of politics (you may ask, who is??), one of the main discussions brought out by the media and many politicians ...is Climate Change.  With this huge hurricane hitting the coast of Texas ...some less than scientific media outlets may say it is the result of our laxness with the environment, and some politicians may concur.  It is not me primarily bringing it up ...as I am just joining the conversation already in progress.

You may believe that Climate Change is real, and a threat to the world ...and all your warnings of it are sincere.  You may truly care about future generations.

I believe the Bible is true ...and I care about present and future generations.  So, do I at least get as much credit as you give yourself in your campaign to bring awareness to people??

You want to warn people.

I want to warn people.

We may say we want the same thing ...yet, there is a vast difference.

I don't think you are a 'hate' group because you believe in Climate Change, but those who believe in the Bible are often labeled as such.

With Climate Change, specific concerns are mentioned ...and likewise, the Bible also mentions specific concerns.
